Regina Quek
Regina has practised in the area of intellectual property for over 18 years and is widely recognized for her extensive experience in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Singapore, regionally and internationally.
Prior to establishing One Legal LLC, Regina had set up and headed the IP departments in two general law practices.
Her IP practice has grown steadily and is consistently ranked as one of the top IP practices in Singapore.
Regina is often cited in leading publications. She is recommended by Euromoney Legal Media Group's Experts Guide as a leading trade mark and patent lawyer for the years 2002-2009. She is listed in the International Who's Who of Trade Mark Lawyers (2003-2008) and the International Who's Who of Patent Lawyers (2004-2009). |
She is also listed in AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers 2003-2009. In addition, Regina is featured in Who’s Who Legal: Singapore 2008 in both the Trademarks and Patents Chapters.
In addition, Regina is a Registered Patent Agent in Singapore. She successfully completed and passed the South East Asian Drafting Course (SEAD Course) in 1997 and was also awarded the Bernard Fisher Scholarship 1997 for Best Student Performance in the SEAD Course.
In the lecture circuit, Regina has been invited as speaker for talks and lectures on the various aspects of intellectual property and has chaired and participated in numerous intellectual property roundtable discussions and forums in Singapore and overseas, including the Optimal Conference in Singapore (2003), Marques Annual Conference in Rome (2004), AIPPI Congress in Geneva (2004), the Centre for International Legal Studies (CILS) Conference on Intellectual Property in Queensland (2004) and Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2009 Branding Seminar (2009).
Regina is also a regular contributor to World Trade Mark Law Report and has contributed articles to World Trade Mark Law Review and MIP’s Singapore IP Focus 2006.
Regina handles all pre- and post- trade mark and patent registration matters, oppositions and revocations in Singapore as well as in different jurisdictions worldwide. She has also extensive experience in corporate IP matters, such as licensing and the sale/transfer of intellectual property assets.
Regina also has an active practice in relation to advisory and enforcement work relating to copyright and trade mark infringement matters and infringements relating to company/business names for her clients in Singapore and in many other jurisdictions.
Regina's clients include a wide range of major players in diverse fields, ranging from automobile, shipping and aviation industries, information technology and telecommunications to food, fashion and consumer products, the hospitality industry as well as academic institutions.
On the organizational front, Regina sits on the Finance Advisory Committee of AIPPI International. She is past President of AIPPI Singapore - which she was instrumental in establishing – and served as President for three terms (1998 – July 2008). She was also the Chairperson of the organizing committee for the AIPPI Forum & Exco Meeting 2007 in Singapore. Regina remains as a committee member of AIPPI Singapore and a member of the Finance Advisory Committee of AIPPI. She is a member of the Association of Singapore Patent Agents (ASPA), the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the Association of European Trade Mark Owners (MARQUES) and International Trade Mark Association (INTA). She is also a member of the INTA project team for the 2010 INTA meeting.
